  16.              Simply, a Logical Extension to XCOPY.
  17.  
  18.    XXCOPY is simply a logical extension to XCOPY.  It remains
  19.    faithfully compatible with XCOPY in the invocation syntax,
  20.    yet, adds many innovative features to be a very serious
  21.    utility for anyone who feels comfortable in managing files
  22.    in command line mode (DOS Box).  XXCOPY has grown to be not
  23.    just a file copy program but also a file removal, search and
  24.    list utility.  Its short name preserving capability makes it
  25.    ideal to clone a system disk which can be made bootable.
  26.    XXCOPY runs under Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and comes with a
  27.    16-bit version XXCOPY16 which allows copying files in DOS
  28.    envrionment using short name only (to be later expanded to
  29.    long name).  You may also use it for synchronizing systems.
  30.    In short, it is an industrial strenth utility for system
  31.    administrators.

  36.   Once you download the distribution file (usually named like
  37.   xxcopy.zip or xxfw2859.zip), unzip it into a temporary
  38.   directory (e.g., c:\temp).

  45.   UIXXCOPY.BAT   ; uninstall the XXCOPY*.EXE files

  52.      NOTE: If you are a licensee of the XXCOPY PRO Edition, and are
  53.            interested in updating your copy of XXCOPY with the newer
  54.            version, this package is probably not for you.  This
  55.            package contains the XXCOPY Freeware which is not the same
  56.            thing as the XXCOPY-PRO Edition even with the presence of
  57.            the license (XXCOPY.LIC) file.  You must obtain your
  58.            update package directly from XXCOPY's home page.  If you
  59.            have any question, please contact Pixelab for details.

  63.   To install the XXCOPY Freeware package, make current the temporary
  64.   directory where the above files are stored; for example, at the
  65.   user prompt of a DOS Box run the following command:

  67.      CD  c:\temp

  69.   Then, run the INSTALL.BAT program without any argument
  70.   
  71.      INSTALL
  72.  
  73.   The batch program is equivalent to "XXCOPY /INSTALL" but it
  74.   will generate a few extra help text at the completion of
  75.   the "XXCOPY /INSTALL" operation.
  76.   
  77.   As a self-sufficient program, the XXCOPY.EXE (or XXCOPY16.EXE)
  78.   file can be placed (and executed) at any directory, or even
  79.   renamed to other name when appropriate without adverse effect.
  80.   In most circumstances, it is best to keep it in a directory which
  81.   is in the "PATH=" Environment variable so that the program is
  82.   readily available whatever the current directory setting is
  83.   at any give time.

  92.      Run XXCOPY/XXCOPY16 with the /? switch.

  138.       XXCOPY users is the XXCOPY discussion group sponsored

  142.       addition to the primary function as a bulletin board for
  143.       questions and answers, the archived communications between
  144.       members can be searched by keywords for answers that have
  145.       been brought up in the past.  You can also sign up to
  146.       subscribe to the discussion Email.  You may also post your
  147.       question by Email.  It is quite convenient and highly
  148.       recommended for all XXCOPY regulars.

  161. grants a non-exclusive license without charge to an individual
  162. who intends to use the XXCOPY program for non-commercial purposes

  167.  1.  You install the XXCOPY program on a computer that is your own
  168.      personal property and you are the primary user of the computer.

  242. allows you to operate XXCOPY on numerous computers at one site.
  243. The cost of the Site License depends on the number of computers on
  244. which XXCOPY will be executed.  If XXCOPY is used in a networked
  245. environment to transfer files between the storage devices on multiple
  246. computers, all the computers which are accessed by XXCOPY shall be
  247. counted whether or not XXCOPY is actually executed on the computer.
